Final Fantasy Type-0 HD Review | RPGFan

Added: 02.09.2015 12:17 | 10 views | 0 comments

RPGFan: Square Enix has been pulling out all the stops lately, announcing sequels and remakes and reboots of beloved franchises, pushing long-delayed projects into the development spotlight, and of course, porting many of their games to the PC platform. Final Fantasy Type-0 HD was itself a response to scores of fans' hankering to play the PSP original in English, and the latest Steam release of that game seems aimed at giving players what they want. While it is something of a flubbed execution, it does represent a pretty substantial improvement over the anemic state Final Fantasy XIII and XIII-2 were delivered in.

Type-0 certainly gets real-time combat right, but this port of an RPG that began on handheld is otherwise not much fun to play on PC.

I Beat Final Fantasy VI's Opera House And All I Got Was This Lousy Airship

Kotaku: "Every time I would tell people I hadnt played Final Fantasy VIa claim which is no longer true, thank godtheyd respond with particular forcefulness because of how much I love music. Not only does FFVI have a famous soundtrack, it features a major musical setpiece: The Opera House. Final Fantasy VIs Opera House sequence is similar to a lot of the gameits awkward but charming about it, relies on the players imagination, and makes up in ambition for what it lacks in ability to actually represent what is happening on screen."

Review: Final Fantasy Type-0 HD (DarkZero)

Jorge S Fernandez: "In many ways, the HD console re-release of Final Fantasy: Type-0 was meant to represent the start of Square Enixs attempts to bring the Final Fantasy brand back in the good graces of longtime fans and potential newcomers alike; after an entire console generation of divisive releases and spin-offs, including the no-show of Final Fantasy Versus XIII (now re-branded as Final Fantasy XV for a new generation) and the abysmal launch of the subscription-based MMORPG Final Fantasy XIV (later re-structured as Final Fantasy XIV: A Realm Reborn, a costly endeavor that surprisingly paid off in both profits and praise), the once-cherished RPG franchise had hit its lowest point since the box office bomb of their CG movie The Spirits Within."

Geeks With Wives: "Its not uncommon for there to be a game or a series that youve heard phenomenal things about but never experienced. From time to time, Ive told younger gamers that they need to experience games like Super Mario Bros 3 and Legend of Zelda: A Link To The Past. Its important for people to see what makes a great game exactly that great."
